Remember when we had a government of the people, by the people, and for the people?

An update on the corporate takeover of our government:

Sep 9, 2013 -“You follow this pro-corporate trend to its logical conclusion, and sooner or later you’ll end up with a Supreme Court that functions as a wholly owned subsidiary of Big Business” – Elizabeth Warren

Corporations took over our government a long time ago. Citizens United was the end of government by the people.

Let's not forget the #GOPTaxScam which allows corporations to have a lower tax rate than some middle class private citizens.

Sadly, I don't think we ever did. Even James Madison only wanted land owners and the rich to vote and have a say in the country's government policies. It's always been the marketing campaign that the owners have advertised though so it sounds good.

"Remember when we had a government of the people, by the people, and for the people?" Ahh, no. That has always been a philosophical concept. Never has been a reality in the USA. Might be nice to try it.

Didn't used to be a government of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations!

@jerry99 The wealthy have always been in control. 1st President George Washington was one of the wealthiest men in america at the time he was made president. Not much has changed since then.

@jerry99 "Didn't used to be a government of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations!" Actually it did, before the labor movement although it was the robber barons instead of corporations. Nevertheless, there is credence in your statement inasmuch as the pendulum has swung way, away from labor rights to the benefit of corporate business.

There's a difference between wealthy people and faceless corporations. Wealthy people are still individually responsible even if they do get better treatment in most aspects of life. Corps can do all the harm in the world and end up just paying a fine -- no one goes to jail. Ever!

Yes, many, if not most of Trump's appointments are wrong.

Many minorities didn't even get that. What's it say about us that it takes us losing our representation to give a crap about it?

Corporations took over our government a long time ago-Correct. There are many blogs about this and the revolving door of government. I would also like to let you know that by having any type of criticism you are not only anti-business you are also UN-AMERICAN.
