Americans think of themselves as special Economically. But if you compare where it stands against other nations, the income of its people is lower than many other countries most of which have national single payer health care and better/longer paid annual leave. [rwer.files.wordpress.com]

"Costa Rica continues to rise up the rankings, coming in at 12th place."

luckily for them they have no oil or other wealth that interests the US. otherwise their leader would be replaced with a US friendly stooge/dictator & they would be on the escalator to hell like the venezuelans.

I have an issue with your generalization of "Americans".
we obviously don't all think that. To farther, in the last election it came to a 51% to a 49% with the electoral college for trump, but it was a 51% to 49% popular vote for Clinton. either way it shows that not all of us agree with our state of economics.
just saying.

Isn't that special. Lol

We are ethnocentric because we refuse to educate ourselves as a national population about what is happening around us and the world.

That doesn't mean we aren't special, just a different kind of special. Not a good kind of special, mind you, yet special in our own myopic way.
