So with Notre Dame Cathedral burning to the ground I expect all the nonbelievers here bouts are having a great old celebration.

A sense of continuity and history is lost on the boorish who are no better in their hearts than ISIS at the destruction of history and faith.

There is a sense of irony I suppose in the hope that an antipathy for what others believe will not live past these cretins individual lives.

Notre Dame Cathedral is a historic landmark to all and a source of faith to many.

Like the twin towers, the skyline will forever be lessened by the fires of negligence.

Why the fuck did they not have fire suppression systems equal to the old gl's grandeur and place in history?

I know, all that money went to the Vatican.

You really have to be a bitter little cynic to write hateful ill informed stuff like that

A few people here sneered at religion over the fire, but most here are educated enough to realize Notre Dame Cathedral's historic and artistic importance.

Your thoughts & prayers didn’t work (again)? Blame it on nature's cleansing 🙂

It seems your expectations are often not met by reality.

I don’t think anyone’s celebrating the wreckage of an amazing historical work of art.
I’ve been to Notre Dame. It is awe inspiring.
I respect religion only as part of history.

Must admit, I grinned 😉

@Varn I can relate to resentment towards religion. But it is a part of all of our history and Notre Dame really is (was?) an impressive piece of architecture!
