Hard core christians do not seem very happy. All that piety has got to be exhausting. And the constant judgement gives them no time for peace. Luckily nonbelief is on the rise, with one in four claiming no religion. Relief is on the way.
If religion is constipation, atheism is the Milk of Magnesia.
I'm stealing this
I've always felt that believers, despite their pretense, are full of fear -- fear of God, fear of death, fear of sinning, fear they won't be 'forgiven', fear of their own impulses, fear of their church, fear of being caught out by other believers, and above all fear of their own doubts. Hardly likely to produce piece of mind or happiness.
They burn themselves out, but, they make a ‘difference’ in doing so.. The tragic part is the energy necessary to counter them, always coming from the best among us. We have better things to do, but if we let our guard down ...the sicko’s move in
And they never stop moving in and in and in.
Yes, have you noticed how a lot or most right wing people do easily get angry and violent too. I have been watching the politics here in Australia, we are going to have elections in May how the right seem to be shouting when they are asked questions and people don't agree with them.
