I read this article last week. It says that in Kentucky, specifically, Monday is the best day to buy gas and Friday is the worst. So, guess which day it was the very next time I stopped to get gas?

I don't know why I read these things when it just leads to me being annoyed with myself for not planning ahead and following advice.

And buy it early in the morning when it is colder and more dense so you get more bang for your buck.

Here in Australia, Tuesday is supposed to be the best day but of course I am otherwise occupied on Tuesdays. So don't despair you are not alone.
