Just a "somewhat" humorous quip. On FB, I saw a post of Jesus on the cross. I was struck by the horror this man had to go through. There were dark clouds, rain and lightning. It was gruesome. Under was a caption: "Happy Easter."
If your gruesome is only dark clouds, rain and lightening then IMO thinking that you should be dancing with the joy of life.
How are you A, it has been a long time since we conversed?
Actually, the figure on the cross conveyed agony. Hello. I'm fine. How are you? It's nice to hear from you.
They're all disturbing - that humans can be so bitterly cruel. That's what we should be addressing.
@think-beyond I think Jesus was an ordinary man who was just talking stupid, he had a learning disability (ADHD) so the powerful Romans silenced him for good as they did with others at the time and he was a public nuisance. That was the order of the time. Pilates asked him what he meant but Jesus could not explain what he was talking about. It did not make sense to most people then. Humans were not any more cruel then the humans who burned innocent Pagan women and children on the stake during Christian crusades.
@Tiramisu have things changed? Americans, Saudi, terror groups and Israeli are still doing it to name but a few.
@FrayedBear No, things will continue as long as stupidity and ignorance continue. But there is a big reason as to why these things continue. Pilate was quick and able ruler who stopped Jesus's stupidity but we are too timid and fearful to rise against tyranny and stupidity. Bad people do bad things because of another big reason... because they can.
@Tiramisu So you are saying that under Professor Cipolla's Basic Laws of Human Stupidity Jesus or the philosophy & fairy tale of him is stupid?

I can't relate to crucifixation 'jokes' at all.
It's not a joke.
Eeew! If I see such things on Facebook I "snooze" that person for 30 days or more.
Irony, right?
I can see the resurrection day as being Happy, but how the hell do you call the day someone was allegedly tortured and executed in a gruesome manner "GOOD FRIDAY?"
I guess it's looking at 'the bright side of life' in the sense that the sacrifice was to give back the prospect of eternal life to human beings.
