Scientists can be oh so wrong. I recall the established ones poo hooed the postulation that the globe consists of many floating tectonic plates which had originally fitted into each other but had floated apart and the constant moving and jostling was the cause of earthquakes. They fell flat on their faces that time !................. see moving plates affecting Japan.
