By the logic being employed by a couple of our more Islamphobic members: because a minority of Muslims are Islamists and guilty of repressive fundamentalist and violent practices, therefore all Muslims are Islamists and guilty of being fundamentalists and pushing repressionist, violent behaviors.

By the same logic, because Torquemada and his fellow Inquisitors were a sadistic, cruel Christian group, therefore all Christians are are cruel and sadistic.

Likewise, by the same logic. Because Bibi Netanyahu and the ultraorthodox Jews are racist and pushing an apartheid agenda in Isreal, therefore all Jews are racist and apartheisists.

Because many (Pence, for instance) Evangelicals are racist, sexist, and soicialky backward, all Evangelicals are backward and racist and sexist.

Finally, because Stalin was a brutal, sadistic atheist tyrant, all atheists are brutal and tyrannical.

Just saying. Gross generalizations are ..... gross. I know I've been guilty of perpetuating the same when it comes to Republicans. I stand chastized, but not necessarily repentant. Lol

I say be wary of Islam. We're fortunate that most Muslims just get on with living and can be very nice, friendly people but they are, in a way, bad Muslims. The good Muslims work towards an Islamic world under Sharia law and this is understood to come about through war. Nice as Muslims can be, I don't see the majority of moderate Muslims confronting the extremists if they had managed to get control in any area.

I'm so tired of the hate speech against all muslims and all Christian's because of the acts of extremists.

If we all started holding everyone responsible for the acts of extremists there would be no one left.

Most rapes are by men therefore all men are rapists and we should immediately ban men. See makes no sense right?

At what point are you no better than the people you scream hate against

Time to get a clue about the danger:::

  • 58% of Muslim-Americans believe criticism of Islam or Muhammad is not protected free speech under the First Amendment.

  • 45% believe mockers of Islam should face criminal charges (38% said they should not).

  • 12% of Muslim-Americans believe blaspheming Islam should be punishable by death.

  • 43% of Muslim-Americans believe people of other faiths have no right to evangelize Muslims.

  • 32% of Muslims in America believe that Sharia should be the supreme law of the land.

Cite your sources. Also Christian's are no better. There are extremists in EVERY group and honestly you're more likely to be killed by a Christian than a Muslim.

Most rapes are by men therefore should we ban all men or lock them all away?

in the end you are no better than what you preach hate against.

@LadyAlyxandrea Thank you Lady A. Jacar is a nut job waiting to happen.

Read the pew research about the percentage of how many muslims believe in death for apostasy, homosexuality, women trying to get out of being forced to live in bags, the killing of non-believers,...

1.4+ billion of muslims. Pew polling showS: 60+% in the UK support the above shit. That means more than 500 million people think this shit is OK.

So very well said! I hate generalizations and I have also made comments on this respect at this site. I have know wonderful people of all creeds and made unforgettable friends with them.

I don’t get it
Religion is religion
We are all basically against religions for the most part

The vast majority of this site just trashes on Christianity

But if someone does that to Islam then everyone gets upset

I could put up 1000 of references where Christians have been called nut jobs, ignorant, dangerous and everything else under the sun.

I understand your point you are trying to make here, but really does it matter?

Much of the Middle East is in fact scary.
Women are often treated poorly
There are also passages in the Koran recommending to smite non believers
Suicide bombers
You have to admit it’s kind of messed up

So why is it ok That the vast majority of this site is ok with stereotyping Christianity and Christians but not anyone else?

It’s rather interesting to me...

Its not the criticizing of Muslims or their tenets, it stereotyping of all.Muslims with one brush, or all Christians with one brush, or all atheists with one brush. The pnes we are pushing back sgainst take their attacks beyond acceptable. Adds to the division, not the coming together. Guiltyvofvthat with Republicans. Hmmm.

So, to be clear, the 38,000+ islamic justified attacks since 9-11 have NOT been committed by muslims? Right?

Tell me how to rephrase the facts without using the word "muslim" to describe the people who actually declare they are doing shit in the name of islam.

Give it up Jarar. You are so over the edge as to irretrievable.

@t1nick Do the research. we are in a world war.

I have friends that are fierce right wing bigots but at some other levels they are the nicest people one can meet too. I am the complete opposite. I find it that they are afraid, they are swayed by the media, feeling bombarded and overwhelmed. Unfortunately the media is under the thumb of big business interests. If they don't write or sway an incident to their liking then they will not advertise with them and that is how they make their money.

you said it. i've been saying this for a long time but you said it so well (and it's okay that you misspelled pence's name because pence has misspelled his darling christianity, figuratively speaking; it may revolve around a fictional skydaddy but my understanding is that it is supposed to promote some kind of love among mankind. i do need new glasses but i can't manage to blame myself for not being able to see christianity that way. HOWEVER, i do not blame individual christians i know who take the good parts and treat folks kindly and ignore the howlings of the megachurches. as for republicans.... i can somehow manage to distinguish between the ordinary republican voter and republican elected officials and appointees, and between either of them and rabid republican voters who are also terrorists or erstwhile terrorists. the part of your post i like BEST, though, is the part about bibi. he does NOT represent all israelis (and i am convinced he trumpishly stole his election, and no i have no sources, just a gut feeling, so i can't provide evidence much less proof -- i am just stating my feelings here) and certainly does not represent all jews (even if trump wants to call him MY prime minister rofl rofl). meanwhile, every muslim i have met in person has been a kind, normal individual who would no more rape or pillage or terrorize than you or i.

oh as for stalin... did you ever notice how saddam hussein physically fashioned himself after stalin? find pictures of each and look at them side by side. spooky! but hussein didn't represent iraquis either. dictators are not in the business of representing the people of their countries, eh?

g

Thanks for the correction on Pence. I do that on occasion. Not sure why except maybe a freudian slip underlying my disgust fir him. Lol

I know you mean well with this post, but just want to point out that a Muslim, by definition, is a follower of Islam. I'm sure the distinction you intended was between radical or extreme Islamists and regular Islamists.

Yes. I knew the distinction and was using them interchangably.

tomas de torquemada. I think it comes down to an observation of human nature. Humans generally have these tendencies

Sorry spellcheck changed my spelling in my post, I thought I was mispelling it as a result.

True, but my intent to illustrate to our wayward Islamophobes that making everyone monolithic is patently false.
