I'd bet money that about 20% of elected republicans (Senate and congress) would not pass. I'd up that to 40% for Trump cabinet appointees.

I helped one of my co-workers study for the test. She passed and became a citizen last July.

I forgot how easy it was; but, I had Civics class. I did learn something that I didn't know: When you become a citizen you promise to serve in the military, if necessary. I've served, but I have always known about possible exemptions.
