In light of recent legislation, some food for thought.

Also saw this come through my FB feed this morning. Apparently a husband in Arkansas who rapes his wife can force her to keep the pregnancy should that happen. [independent.co.uk]

Regulating morals...that is what they are trying to do...and those morals seem to target women and sex..it has always been their goal: to keep women from having a fuller sexual life than men.

The insistance on monogamy does far, far more to keep women from having a full sex life as anything men do with legislation.

@racocn8 Monogomy is generally governed by religion and social mores...they are just as antiquated as those who are trying to govern by using religion and personal values...

It is surely a fool's errand to imagine men engaging in sex for anything more than their own pleasure. It is my suspicion and belief that most men are generally incompetent in bed and in love. Women have their own issues. Both sexes are notorious for their inhibitions and are too self-concious to instruct their partners in improved techniques, much less innovation and growth.

@racocn8 I beg to differ...I find most men quite willing to be instructed, and at this age, are quite skilled at sex...in addition, I find many women my age that have foregone all of the unrealistic expectations of love and honor promised through sexual encounters as depicted by the media/movies/books/ etc. We just want to have sex for the sake of sex...I also find, when talking to younger people frankly, that most have grown up with the internet, so they are even more into trying new things and learning...I think if we can accept that our society no longer needs the old morals and taboos to know whose kids are whose, keeping free of disease and complications including pregnancies, that it is progress beyond what our generation knew.

@thinktwice I must agree! Nicely said.
