Why Trump wants to be impeached
If the Democrats push for impeachment, there will be a trial in the Senate.
during that trial Senate Republicans will be able to attack the Chargers made in the house.
there will be no rebuttal , guilt or innocence would be determined solely by a vote of the Republican controlled Senate.
if the charges bye the Democrats are NOT well-supported by evidence, this will further demonstrate that their attacks against President Trump UNJustified.
he then will emerge in the 2020 election stronger than ever and the Democrats will have exposed themselves as being incompetent. or worse yet unable to be objective.
without 67 votes in the Senate a conviction is not possible.
please tell me why I'm wrong!!!!

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.What IS the evidence? Forget about short-term machinations, what really counts is the truth. Democrats are not Republicans. They impeached Clinton on ridiculous charges and suffered a humiliating defeat. On the other hand, it weakened Clinton as well. In the end, Clinton is percieved as one of our better presidents.
George W. Bush was not impeached, but he is widely percieved as one of our worst presidents.Trump is in this latter category, regardless of whether he is impeached or not.
The real problem is, Democrats are as a whole less religious, less ideologically driven, less united by these twin pillars, and thus are less likely to VOTE. It really has nothing to do with impeachment.
If Democrats percieve individually their very survival is at stake, they will vote. If they vote, Democrats win.
Abortion and gun control work for Republicans because they think god is on their side, and in a way they are right. The IDEA of god unites them.
What unites Democrats? Liberal secularism/agnosticism/atheism? Class warfare? Economic disparities caused by the rotting away of the middle class? Racism? Anti-war sentiments? All and much more SHOULD unite them, but they don't. There is nothing as strong as religion, as unifying, in the Democrats' camp, at the very least.
Impeaching or not impeaching Trump is beside the point. The very fact this deeply-flawed, godless man is president speaks volumes: HE may or may not be religious, but he embraces a religious agenda.
If Democrats were united in a DISbelief in god, they would win. If most people felt as strongly as most of the people who populate this site, and VOTED, Democrats would win. We are increasing in number, but the religious still predominate.
That's the bottom line, not impeachment. In a battle between god and no god, god still wins.

Why Donald J Trump will win in 2020.
his base is primarily made of one issue voters.
his base is very loyal and regardless of his I will follow him to the ends of the Earth.
although the one issue voter really only cares about one issue.
they will except the rest all of the Republican / Trump agenda if it means that one issue secure.
here is a list of single issues that will carry the Republican agenda in no particular order.
1:gun rights( take my gun out of my cold dead hand)
2: religious right( Trump should end every speech with God Bless the USA)
3: nationalist( America First right or wrong)
4: right to life( the Democrats just want to kill babies)
5: xenophobe( keep those immigrants out of this country all they want is welfare)
each one of the single voter groups by themselves as insignificant
in aggregate adds up to about 40 voting population.
presidents typically get too much praise when the economy is good and too much blame when the economy is bad . Trump will claim victory over the economy this is hard to refute. this will add about 5% to Trump's base.
the Democratic agenda for the past 2 years has essentially been anti Trump all the time. therefore they have some catching up to do.
Social Democratic wing of the Democratic Party, has created an opportunity for the Republicans; this I will call the Red Scare
( Khrushchev said We will bury you) this will no doubt add to Trump's base.
due to the Relentless attacks by democrats Trump may be able to obtain a victim status, this may not resonate well with these base unless is perceived to be fighting back,( it's us against them).
the only Democrat that is a perceivable threat to the re-election of Donald Trump is former Vice President Biden. he will have to find
a way to unite Democrats and reduce the Red Scare Factor.
this will be especially difficult Biden will have to run on the Obama economy. which may be difficult.
due to the high degree of polymerization we will expect a high turnout and a spirited campaign
