People in the USA think Kim in North Korea is a madman, not because it makes sense, but because they have been told it over and over again. But in fact, I would say he is pretty sane . . . . He saw what happened in Libya, Iraq, Syria, etc., and decided he did not want to be next. It is always the same old modus operandi with the idiots in Washington, paint the image of a madman, then invade the country for its GOD . . . Gold, oil and drugs.
Assad is not stupid . . . If he was that stupid, he would not still be in Syria . . . He would have been taken out by now by the murdering bastards in Washington.

Syria, Turkey, the Kurds - Iraq and Iran - Saudi Arabia - Afghanistan - the whole lot is a quagmire of old tribal and religious rivalries that the west would have been well advised to leave to wallow in their own shitstorm and should now pull back and let them get on with their own issues and kill each other to their own and allahs content..... just keep buying the oil, while looking for a replacement power source that removes their source of influence.
North Korea is a different ball game ... during the war (way back in the fifties) the us destroyed almost every town in that country and are still hated because of it. The regime control everything, and through the media controls the people, who know little of the rest of the world. At some stage there will be a brief but decisive attack against North Korea, probably missiles, to take out the nuclear capability. A move to create instability within the armed forces of North Korea, leading to a new government, could be tried - but has not worked out too well in recent times.

Any country that has the fuck bombed out of them is going to emerge from it with some serious issues. Each country has a history, and it is difficult for people from another culture, who have not been through the same thing, to even begin to approach an understanding of it.

@THHA I don't think many in the usa have any comprehension of the devastation war brings to a country, or the hatred engendered against the enemy.... and no outsider ever really have more than a surface knowledge of the history and culture of a different country

thinktwice 8 replied May 22, 2019 as my reply button is not working just now. I am speaking about Kim Un and the Kim family of North Korea. My main point is that he is no more mad, maybe evil, than other dictators. I also point out that Americans know little about the government there - still believing it to be Communist, as FAUX news still calls them, usually. They have been Juche for a while now. Their constitution makes no secret about them having a dictator.

He is much like a Roman emperor from long ago looking to stay in power. For those unaware, as our government proxies don't like historical context, North Korea is no longer a Communist nation: it is Juche, and even in its constitution describes itself as "dictatorship of people's democracy." By law, it must be lead by a member of the Kim family, the ones in charge, the ones who are seen as direct descendants of the Unicorn Kingdom. It has been so for quite a few years now. I agree that Kim is not a "madman" anymore than a number of past world dictators. He is ruthless and willing to kill and subjugate his people, putting possibly a million in work camps. Most likely, he had his brother murdered because his brother could have been placed in the ranks if a coup were to take place. His other brother and his sister seem to be towing the line. It was his brother that killed their Aunt's husband. Although his sister's name was not listed on the most recent members of their politburo.

I have yet to see him invade even one other country, kill hundreds of thousands of people, all under false pretenses . . . . something the US government has done repeatedly . . . . the REAL madmen are in Washington.

@THHA I think you have presented two different dictators and people are speaking to one or the other or both?...are you talking about Kim or Assad or both?

@thinktwice My point is all on Kim, the leader of his Juche nation. No longer Communist for many years and few Americans know any of their politics.

@Beowulfsfriend I know what yours is...but judging from the way he answered you and me (I was also talking about Kim...) I think there is some confusion on his part...

@THHA We missed it because you are all over the place and your post is a bit disjointed...your point is well taken in this comment however...

I think some of it might be that he had his own family and any opposed to him killed...madman might be the wrong word...more like controlling, cut throat dictator who has hurt his people by such strict control...there are 29 approved haircuts for women...he had to be flown to meetings by other countries because his country could not afford air flights...you readily assume what people know or don't know..how about putting SOME in the first line to get away from your all or nothing presentation that makes you seem a bit judgy? Your opinion would be more palatable if you did not box in people before they even respond...and I actually agree with your sentiment here....

What I said does not "box in people", it is not all-inclusive, sorry you read that into it, but it is not there. Had I said "All people", that might be a different story. As for his actions, they pale to white compared to the damage done by the USA in their stupid attempt to destroy another country in their long PLANNED list of countries they were going to take out. [newspunch.com]

I can also add that this so-called "cut throat dictator" as you put it must have a lot of balls, because I see videos of him out in public, surrounded by citizens of his country . . . . . something that OUR presidents would not do without being surrounded by secret service agents . . . .

I guess this so-called ruthless dictator's enemies are all pansies.

@THHA uhm...I was speaking of Kim...your words...People in the USA think Kim is a madman...the video is not of Kim...

When was the last time you saw Kim surrounded by body guards with weapons? Generals maybe . . . he met Dennis Rodman, watches a basketball game, no armed guards. . . . funny how that works.

@THHA his personal running guard? The Supreme guard for his family? All armed...

@THHA "North Korea is one of the world's most tightly-controlled societies, but even so security for its leader is iron-clad.

Foreigners attending any event where Kim will be present must go through hours of security procedures beforehand, and surrender all electronics, including phones."

@THHA Would that be funny ha ha or funny odd....?

Well, that may be . . . . but when was the last time he invaded another country on false pretenses, killed hundreds of thousands of people, created millions of refugees . . . . something our own government does repeatedly . . . . . but I guess that does not make them madmen, because they are "exceptional".

@THHA wait wait...so you present a misinformation that you acknowledge and then expect me to take your word on the rest? yep...sure...sorry, I am over this conversation even if I agree with what you are trying to say...so long

Good, let's terminate this.
