Why?

The claim is that Jesus carries us all though the really hard times in our lives. It's supposed to be comforting propaganda, but it steals credit from people who often marshal their own resiliance, or, simply wait it out. Considering that Jesus is an imaginary demigod, it just comes off as asinine.

It’s the old rule, if you hafta explain a joke, the other person just doesn’t get it

I did find it funny and perhaps should have said so, but I wanted to make my point. Perhaps I should have been more mindful to have acknowleged the humor.
