Unfortunately the next PM will have to deal with the same problems and may well do even worse.

But would have to work really hard at it to do worse!

@Petter Even if it is the lying and unprincipled Boris?

@CeliaVL He actually did a fair job as mayor of London.

@Petter He had a few minor successes but wasted huge amounts of money. He was more noise than substance. Garden bridge, water cannons, buses - allbad judgement and waste of money and there was a lot he could have done but didn't.

@CeliaVL Possibly, but would you want Gove?

@Petter I want a general election but that is a forlorn hope. One of the finalists will be Boris I should think but the other is not so predictable. They are all horrible though.

@CeliaVL Just as a thought exercise. Do you remember in the previous leadership contest, Gove had promised his support to Boris, and Boris was almost a certainty - until Gove stabbed him in the back and put himself up instead, leading to the exit of Boris and the eventual non-election of Theresa May? (After Leadsome pulled out)
You do? Now, imagine where Brexit' would be!

So who will replace her? Boris? All seems a bit downhill from here. New leader for a pretty ineffectual government sounds disastrous especially with DUP having so much clout.

At least a general election would clear out the dead wood as far as the electorate are concerned on both sides of the floor.

Get a new PM, popular with the public. Call a snap election. Either lose or get a decent majority, but either way get the DUP out of its overly influential position.

@Petter that was my line of thinking also

Boris is certainly the bookies favourite. I'm in two minds. I would hate see him leading the UK into "no deal Brexit" but then it may improve the chances of a successful Scottish independence referendum.
