Doctor reprimanded for asking Muslim woman to remove her hajib so that he could hear what she was talking about!
Perhaps she could have just lowered the bit covered her mouth. I thought the religious imperative was to cover the head, not conceal the face.
Common sense is the loser here I suggest

And they are assholes to everybody. As an RN I’ve seen it. Royal, stinking, assholes. Just because they feel entitled. Not all doctors, but too many. If more patients walked out and found nicer doctors, the assholes would stop that crap.
You know what they call the person who graduates last in his medical school class?
Doctor.

@CarolinaGirl60 One doctor's arrogance almost killed me in the 90's. In my 50's I had quit going on the road and didn't play for six years, so I got a job as a medical courier for Austin Radiological. They read for just about every hospital and most doctors in Central Texas. I met and had conversations with most of our doctors and many, many other doctors on a daily basis. You are so right. I met and got to know some very nice doctors, but I dealt with some real assholes when there was no need to be an asshole.
perhaps the doctor could have simply said I can not hear or understand what you are saying and let the woman find a solution

Yes...put it on her to figure out the next step...but in reality, the veil is of thin fabric that does not mask noise much...like a bandanna over the mouth loosely...you can hear unless you are near deaf...
@thinktwice have never worn one!!! or removed one
