With the ever increasing loss of personal anonymity, many people are concerned about technology reaching even further into their personal lives. This article deals with facial recognition technology and the concerns around it. I'm wondering how all of you feel about the further loss of privacy it represents

Some people pay little attention to this concern, but it is a serious one. Not just facial recognition, but the fact that there are crooks out there just looking for opportunities to steal your home, your car, your identity, your unborn baby and anything else that's not nailed down. We should not be helping them.

Not always rational if you give away your life to social media

I find it odd that people are so concerned about privacy and yet are willing to share the most intimate details of the latest fight they have had with their boyfriend...

Seems also that so many are trying so hard to gain their 15 minutes of fame and blogs are seeking thousands of subscribers to some pretty inane personal information.

To be honest, I think people think they are worthy of having their privacy invaded...in fact, most people don't really care...what is so private that others want other than financial gain via gaining access to your credit card number or social security number?

With cameras everywhere, and so many people, do you think an every day person is even going to be more than just a blip on a screen?

I use facial recognition to open my phone...it knows it is me with glasses, contacts, sunglasses...I think it is pretty cool technology. I go to the airport and I skip through the line with facial recognition. I am a nobody, so it doesn't bother me one bit.

Your phone wears glasses, contacts, and sunglasses? How does your phone keep them on? 🙂

agree...crocodile tears for folks who whine about privacy, but share their entire lives on "free" social media, use cellphones for more and more financial functions...a goofy disconnect here...

@seattlepanda I have seen it all...and even with information about safety, etc., people still share and share...a tiny bit of stalking can come up with a wealth of information so if you post it or send it, it is out there and you best be prepared for any exposure..

@Sticks48 lol...It is scary that the facial recognition can still recognize you...if the eyes can't be seen, it uses your mouth...it is learning...both intrigues me and scares the crap out of me...
