Someone who has experienced childhood trauma may later have frequent surges of adrenaline, wearing the body down like a race car engine that is constantly revving and racing.

Racial and other types of discrimination also causes strong stress responses, affecting health and aging the immune system..

Early trauma leads to chronic health problems from constant inflammation, associated with a broad range of illness, including cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases.

Typically, the more trauma people experience, the worse their health is.
