Here’s an article for people who may have an interest in how and why Mormons are leaving their faith, and at alarming rates. The LDS General Authority, rich white men living in their opulent castles, they aren’t worried at all. As long as they still hold their market share in the Utah real estate holdings, they’ll do just fine.

One word: Internet.

Ex-mormons get a bit defensive about their reasons for leaving because they're characterized in negative ways by those who remain in the church. Active members assume that people only leave the church because they want freedom to sin without feeling guilty. Leaving the LDS church can be so daunting that there's a whole new term (New Order Mormons) coined for those who no longer believe but stay members because they aren't willing to face the consequences of leaving, which can include divorce or even losing employment. If you meet ex-mormons who feel the need to explain why they are no longer LDS, that's why.

This forum appears to be populated with white people too. Would a different skin color make the LDS General Authority's money and power okay? Is it really an issue of skin color?

Utah would be so much better off. And I mean every molecule there.

The LDS are just another cult.
Who cares about the "why?", as long as they're leaving.
Eventually, the old bastards die off.

But the magic underwear!!! 😎

Alarming rates for whom? I say, the more people abandon religions (and the brainwashing they do), the better for all humanity.

there are 2 good podcasts for ex mormons on here, mormon happy hour, and naked mormonism. the first one is more news and more current things, and the ladder is a historical one that has had a lot of surprising details that i was never taught.

Oh, the stuff that they strive so hardtop keep from the rank and file members IS truly unbelievable in its amount, etc, and if leaked out in its entirety the 'marbled' walls of the LDS would crumble to dust.
For example, Mormon Missionaries MUST save and PAY for their own costs, etc, to go on Missions for the LDS. The last I heard was that THEY receive an ALLOWANCE of $100 per week from their OWN funds, not the Churches funds, for foods, etc, MUST lodge in a Church OWNED Flat/Apartment, etc, ONLY, can ONLY have 1 day per week FREE to themselves, i.e. Thursday, MUST not travel by Public Transport at ANY time and for ANY reason and MUST remain 100% celibate and not be tempted to form ANY kind of romantic relationships what-so-ever during their 'missions' which shall be for a MINIMUM of NOT least than 2 years.
Somewhat DRACONIA to say the very least I do believe given that I once hinted to the Local LDS where I live that I have a ThD ( Doctorate in Theology, a FACT btw) and as such they welcomed me with both opened arms and very broad and hopeful smiles, I might add, whilst I was doing my research into the various and innumerable sects of Xstianity.
They were so enthralled and rapt in the thought of having their own genuine Theologian as possible Church Member that I was actually granted UNFETTERED access to ALL Church records, etc, at my own pleasure and times of my own choosing, including the incoherent writings of both Brigham Young and Joseph Smith.
I wore out many a pen and numerous note-pads, in secret, during those most revealing periods of research.

That might be a good sign that our numbers are increasing in Utah.

As long as they keep leaving. Eventually they won't be able to keep the real estate, and my guess as to why will be all the sexual abuse that'll be exposed. Seems to be the thing with repressive, over controlling religious organizations, after all.

Mormonism is just the Scientology of the 19th Century.

It's always about money and control.
