I can work with the fact that my son is dead, or my wife is dead? Accept it as if I had chosen it? What would that accomplish, other than to dishonor the memory of people I loved?

I don't fight it in the sense that I want to go around irrationally negating everything I don't like or that I want to be morose all the time. But I don't accept it either. Such things are a permanent obscenity in my field of awareness. And they should be.

I know Eckhart means well, but in some ways he's full of shit.

what a bunch of mindless drivel.
so would that apply when you're diagnosed with terminal cancer?
there is no present,. by the time you recognize the present, it's already the past.

As the old saying goes ---- FUCK THAT --- as I steadily lose my sight I will follow the advise of Dylan Thomas and vent my rage.

Tolle is a wise man. I would like to see the context for this statement because it doesn't sound right.

So how is it we (at least some of us) can be considered rational beings and feel the need to change circumstances. This philosophy I see as suited to sheep and, unfortunately, lazy, cowardly humans.
