Combat vet here. If you can't burn a piece of cloth then what it stands for doesn't mean shit.

You voted for legal because you understand the freedom of speech...it's all about freedom of speech and it should be legal. But, if you're looking at it from a patriotic, corporation viewpoint, you don't want people in the company trashing the company logo and you would hope Americans wouldn't do it...but what if someone who is not American burns one? It's not their "team." Regardless, it falls in line with kneeling for the National Anthem or any other "protest." Unfortunately the U.S. makes all kinds of hideous decisions, like separating families, incarcerating the Japanese and the Supreme Court ruling that it's ok to neuter the retarded. Blindly following anything seems to bring up thoughts of...religion πŸ™‚

Burning a flag = not ok. But statues, pictures, and stained glass depicting a guy nailed to a cross is perfectly acceptable. And we wonder why this place is so fucked up.

@powder Please elaborate?

@powder American flag. Only 1 dude depicted as nailed to a cross I'm aware of, and there was a book burning earlier this year.

Legal...also a veteran.

I see it as a freedom of speech issue and so constitutional.

Many, myself included, vets, just know it is a constitutional right.

I don't like it but I defend constitution so legal and I am a army vet as well those restricting right are people chipping away at all our rights until we have none and they can rule us

The reason you voted the way you did is because you truly know what freedom means...it is not the flag or kneeling during the Star Spangled Banner...it is that we can...

My dad didn't like it, but he would have died to defend anyone's right to do it...US Army 1944-1975...

I don't like it either. But its still my right. And I don't want others to loose the right.
Its just a symbol.

I didn't vote, but I agree with you.

I have a friend, 10 years USCG, hates the idea of banning burning the flag.
He's seventy and left an E-7
