Today I'm making scratch dinner rolls. I have a friend who is in end stage cancer. Her and I have had Thanksgiving dinner together on and off for the better part of the last 20 years. I always make the rolls. The first time we had dinner at her house I asked what she wanted me to bring and the first thing she said was "the rolls".

I don't know that she'll still be here by Thanksgiving so I'll make the rolls now.

Do you use whole milk or powdered milk? What kinda yeast? Quick rise or regular rise? Or do you use fresh yeast. Sorry for the circumstances. Do you brush butter after baking. Peace

Skim milk because it's what's in the fridge. Regular yeast. I always brush the top with butter when they come out of the oven. Real butter. Fake butter is not allowed!!

You are a baker. I am a retired Baker USMC. Great job..

You are courageous to create the gift of life in the face of death....nothing smells better than fresh warm rolls under a kitchen towel in a big basket
