I agree in part: no government will ever give you freedom. However, I don't believe it's possible for the left and the right to work side-by-side to save the environment - right-wing politics promote selfishness and greed (also known as "growth at all costs" capitalism) which is what got us into this mess in the first place. The only way we can save a finite planet is to stop wanting more and more and more, stop feeling we've failed if we don't have a bigger car than our neighbours and stop exploiting the resources and lax environmental laws of developing nations. Therefore, rather than working with the right, the left must destroy the right.

"Workers of the world, unite!"

I certainly agree, but this is a very large task.
