One of the things I find really irritating is when a post or such like includes LOL or ROFLMAO etc. as if the poster is laughing at their own comment.

Most of the time the remark is not usually funny to me. It’s like canned laughter in those dreadful 1970’s sitcoms informing me when a line or action was humorous.

Does any else find this annoying! WTFDTDI!

Sometimes I write "ha ha" so as to not be taken seriously. Texting often clouds the context and humor that face-to-face conversation has so I will make sure that people are aware I am being sarcastic or attempting comic relief sometimes. However, I don't use acronyms. I remember getting a message from a driver where I work and it took forever for me to work out what it meant: TIA (thanks in advance). This was many years ago and I still laugh about my confusion. Short cut talk only works when everybody has the code book!

Correct...andI don’t!

I speak English, not Acronym. What does "WTFDTD" mean?

I just made it up to be ironic. Why The Fuck Do They Do It. Doubt it exists in any acronomic lexicon

I don’t understand half the acronyms used!

I only understand three or four and I'm not interesting on learning. I have to ask my son...

Google them!

@AnneWimsey I do sometimes...but I just guess at others.
