I LOVE Dick Van Dyke!! I worshipped him as a child, while watching old movies.

My image of him is not shattered.... I just love him more. Wise words indeed.

Grew up with him also always cool guy has a younger wife extremely happy excellent outlook on life saw a special with him documentary was on long life

The dumbing down of the public schools was a start, the rest, willfully wanting to be hurtful to others (non white fringe xtians) in the hope they get something out of it. IMO

That does seem to be the strangest thing which Dick Van Dyke is articulating here. How is it that half the people in the USA can’t see what the rest of us see when they look at Trump?

Too much indoctrination into religion, dumping down of education, pure greed, etc, etc. And some people truly hope that he is the messiah, they are so downtrodden and angry that they are looking for someone to blame, and it is easier to blame the ones one does not know. Also there seem to be a urban myth or something that rich people are something to look up to, they cannot possibly be wrong or have done something wrong, they have just been working very hard that is why they are rich, and that is something to look up to.

@Jolanta and no proof of anything is needed....they have no real idea of his finances except what he shows them...which could all be bought with dirty money...they admire criminal behavior as they spew out their holier-than-thou bible crap...they think anyone who can formulate a sentence is elitist and a snob...they have no pride in rich tradition and cultures...pathetic human beings that have no meaningful life except to exist...nothing matters except what they can get...no human compassion if it does not align up to their believe that immigrants and people of color did all of this to them and ruined our country...many have done nothing at all of value to contribute to society...angry, hateful, vindictive wannabees...just like him...there is no redeeming quality in that man and most of his followers...

They know it's wrong, but they want it.
