In six days from now I will be 800 miles North of my home, at the end of the first day's drive, but still in temperatures around blood heat. However, next Saturday I shall cross the Pyrenees mountain range into France, with cooler weather and greenery. By Sunday evening I shall be in London.
Maybe I'll take some photos this time!
Safe travels hope you have Fantastic Mountain views!
That will come mainly in August, when I drive to Italy via Switzerland. In Spain I will only traverse two mountain ranges. Although most of the route lies over 3 to 4 thousand foot high plateaus.
Why travel all that way to get to London?
Because London won't come to me!
@Petter But you could have chosen so many other beautiful cities closer than London
@ShadowAmicus Not if I wish to spoil my grandchildren!
@Petter You need to get them over to Paris and spoil them there
@ShadowAmicus They've been to Paris, and quite a bit of North West Framce.
In fact they're already pretty well travelled, especially my 13 year old granddaughter. She's seen a lot of Northern Italy, including Venice, Verona and Milan. Her next "jaunt" will be to Seville, to immerse herself in Spanish by living with a Spanish family, although when she comes to Mojacar we also help her to practice the language.
@Petter travelling abroad is the best education kids can get
@ShadowAmicus Fortunately, we could afford to fly with our children from Kenya to many countries around the world, always hiring a car and exploring widely for at least three weeks. Now our grandchildren are being exposed to the travel bug.
Are you hiking, bicycling or driving?
Driving, of course. It's 1.800 miles to the ferry port. Can't cycle that in 3 days!! Anyway, my extensive cycling days ceased 25 years ago, when I was in my early fifties.
