I know this may sound trite, but people’s experiences are more useful to others than quotes and references to books that no one will read.

Great to quote a passage to support your feelings on experience but not as an authority for that experience gor everyone.

Depends on the persons experience I suppose. there is nothing worse than listening to someones boring uneventful life story.
Be selective in what you read. Why fill your mind with garbage such as Mills and Boone or the Shades of Gray soft porn.

Some things in life we all experience sooner or later.

@Ms_McSteven And some people don’t learn anything from experiences, books or anything at all.

Judgment stops when storytelling begins.

Often I get bored with cliche' memes.

@Ms_McSteven

You're right: it depends on the audience.

I get bored with Memes ....full stop! Lazy way to gain points in my opinion.

I am glad someone said it...

I would much rather hear from others to start a discussion, not necessarily pit one expert/book against the other...

I think it is much more important to hear why people feel and think they way they do...I have a friend who was personally affected by uncontrolled immigration..when she told me her story, it gave me another perspective on why she is so against the immigrants...that made more of an impact than all of the pundits and people just parroting out stuff on both sides...

Totally agree. Books put me to sleep - life gives me something to share! Also, most can relate to ordinary life, folks ‘get it.’ And, they know when to call BS, too..

Too many feel describing their thoughts, experiences or feelings must rivle the eloquence found in ..books. Not so. Write it as you felt it - and others will feel it too 😉

@ToolGuy Those who influenced our voters were not real, they were russian plants within our online social networks.. Folks need a basic level of understanding and trust to make such a decision. If they’re that poor a judge of character ..perhaps they shouldn’t vote 😕

@ToolGuy ...ah.. A reader 😀 What I’m advocating is sharing your reality, not someone else's. The dissemination of knowledge takes many forms, and aiming others at a book is ..passe

I agree. Or add why a quote is meaningful, what it taught you, etc. Open a discussion.
