Encouraging … but unfortunately too many key positions are still held by figures with deep rooted connections to the churches, e.g. QE2

It seems some developed countries are going in that direction. Ours is increasingly becoming secular but the religious are putting up more of a fight to quell that move. It just means we have to also fight harder.

@uuberdude You have more optimism than I.

I hope that applies to their Muslim community mostly as they're growing like weed and i don't mean the good kind

more important things to worry about other than which fairy land to believe in. Global warming and carbon footprint is more of a priority . Islam on increase because of immigration, and god knows why all these immigrants want to come to the UK, are we too much of a soft touch ? that they can't live in their own countries ?

Unfortunately the environmental issues are exacerbated by religious beliefs. I was a member of the board and activist for a population organization, ZPG, and we taught that population was the 'core issue.' I now see that religion often drives population growth.

Secularism is bound to win it all.....still will take some time but the trend is good

It's good in one way but I fear how things are going to go if they don't find a secular alternative.

@Allamanda It's not a problem.

The ostrich approach, I guess.

@uuberdude I hope you're right. It works for me.
