The article states that immigration is increasing , not decreasing. At the present that is true. But her article is misleading.

Immigration across the US's border was highest in the late 1970's and early 80's. At that time the Mexican economy had completely tanked. There were no jobs, so Mexican males made up the bulk of the immigrants from Mexico. They were emigrating in order to find work to support their families. With NAFTA and Clinton, the economy in Mexico improved and immigration significantly decreased.

The situation today is decidedly different. The emigres today are entire families, men women, and children seeking to flee unbelievable violence and poverty. They are fleeing societies and economies run by drug cartels and paramilitary groups that we helped create by our meddling in their politics and economic structure.

Yes, immigration has picked up and increased, especially since Trump took office. But it has a totally diffetent structure than 20 plus years ago.
