Would periodically risk me and my families safety trekking to the Oregon Coast for a day, or weekend. Miss it tremendously.. Now in SW VA, an ocean is over 300 miles away, and nowhere near as ..wild.
Was scouting a motorcycle ride today ..and considering Virginia Beach, would have had to spend the night.. Tempting … though I’d rather travel 3,000 miles the other direction to ‘the beaches I know’ (miss, and love)!
Took a magnificent “land-locked” adventure on that motorbike today, though. Winding through and over the lush worn mountains of the Blue Ridge is nothing to scoff at
I grew up on Puget sound and even lived on an island for awhile. Just got done spending 7 months in Albuquerque, and it was weird not being around water, or being able to go to the beach. Dunno how landlocked people stay sane...then I look at the landlocked areas and realize they aren't.
