The media. During most of my lifetime the media has always been tasked with getting the facts and reporting them. I was a journalist for a brief time and you were required to verify things before you reported them. Then Fox news reported that Gabby Giffords was dead. Today's headline: "Remains found in Oregon likely ‘Seinfeld’ actor Charles Levin: police". LIKELY??? I bet that's a comfort to his family. And what if they're wrong? Just a "whoops?" I support the First Amendment and freedom of the press but they really need to help themselves if they want to maintain their credibility.

They are trying to break the news first and don't seem to care if it's accurate or not. I'd rather factual info but today we want instant info.

Well in the past "the scoop" was important but they made sure it was accurate first.
