The optimism is the "have fun while you're here" mindset.

yes, but that only works up to a point. i suppose that's why the search for the perfect drug goes on.
a sober sane person will have trouble with "have fun while you're here".
@callmedubious Nobody can really stay in that place, but overall, I think it works, at least for me.
