If this really works the big oil companies will find a way to keep it off the market. Am I too cynical?

If the petrochemical industry is smart, they will acquire, perfect, and use this technology to produce carbon-neutral fuels. That is their core business.

How come they never perfected the Science of turning coal into gasoline? @PBuck0145

@nicknotes Producing methane, gasoline, or any liquid fuel from coal would not be carbon neutral.

Good comment. If the petrochemical industry would invest in the technology and bring the price for sun-fuels down, they would continue to prosper in the green economy.
They should also be investing in wind, photovoltaic, geothermal and tidal energy sources.
