In my opinion, the only reason that people fear death is the religious hellfire and damnation myth. Religious people are afraid that they might not have been good enough to make it to heaven. Agnostics are afraid that might be wrong. Agree?
I am afraid of death with or without the fear of hell.
I don't fear death in a religious way. I fear that I wouldn't be able to help those who are dependant on my help. My parents, siblings, spouse, children, and friends come to mind. If I pass away knowing they are all taken care of, I have no fear, only some doubts and regrets.
I'm actually looking forward to it in a way. If I do get a chance to talk to the creator (or an all knowing entity), I have some impossibly unfair questions to ask.
