Madelaine Albright has a great book that helped me understand fascism better. "Fascism: A Warning." Part history lesson, part politicsl science lesson. Essentially, in my layman's understanding of her book, fascism is not an economic model, i.e. neither capitalist nor communist, etc. It can grow out of any economy in theory. But it IS a political strategy for using populist appeals to dupe a populace in any sort of democracy into handing over control to a leader who appeals to the people's admiration for perceived strength, their desire to feel superior to some targeted demonised scapegoat groups, and to people's sense of economic insecurity--by blaming economic hardship on "others" and promising to take care of them and create prosperity in exchange for the people handing power over to the fascist hopeful dictator. Prince Machiavelli was a sort of prototype for fascist thinking, on how to subdue a population through manipulation, but he wasn't in much of a democratic societal structure. Musselini was the first true fascist leader in Europe. Hitler admired his strategy and copied parts but did it more forcefully. Musselini was never a white supremisist. Hitler absolutely was.
White supremicy is first about pure racism. Fascists may choose to exploit white supremicy as part of their fascist appeal.
D. Trump absolutely fits Albright's model description on many levels as a would-be fascist leader. The question is whether the U.S. is strong enough to fend off his attempted take over.

If you think I am alarmist and delusional, you obviously have not seriously read much 20th century European history. We are in precarious times.

Without doubt!

We are at the tipping point, not just here, hence the rest of the planet too!!!

Not in Trump's case. He manages to be a racist, a fascist, a liar, a cheat, a traitor, an imbecile, and a scumbag all at once and does so 24/7 at the ripe old age of 72. Talk about multi-talented.

Yes! No doubt there!

I find the Obstructionist republicans are true Fascist's, they do nothing for the people of this country, they only do the biding of their owners, the wealthy and their corporations!

trump is nothing but a Judas goat leading his cult of Obstructionist's republican followers into complete oblivion!

The worst case of multi-tasking l have ever seen.
