My first wife's father was JW. While I am sure there are some good folks in the organization, all I saw was a money sucking organization that took, took, took and bled him dry of his life's savings. Religion to those folks is just a smokescreen to dupe the elderly. But then again, look at some of the televangelists. It always comes down to money.

The most recent thing I heard is that they want the word 'victim' removed from the court's vocabulary while the case is being judged. They claim it prejudices the court which is true, I think. What I dislike is the cold legal stance of an organisation claiming to Christian. To put it in the vernacular, they don't seem to give a fuck about members who claim to be hurt.

It’s really no different from the arguments the Catholic Church and other organisations, both religious and secular, have been making for years. The protection of the organisation is paramount and sacrificing truth and the safety of children is part of that, if deemed necessary.

My guess is that the RC is backing the JWs on this as a test case, because if they get away with it, then it is open season for the religious kiddy fiddlers and no religious organisation can ever be held responsible for the actions of their clergy ever again.
Utter filth.

@OldMetalHead The same way as there is a drinking age limit, there should be an age limit on church attendance. Want to attend church - be over 21!
