One of the main illnesses that we have in our country is the belief that there is no such thing as verifiable truth, and that you can just make it up as you go.... When the Republican party was taken over by the Evangelical Christian Religion and Churches started spouting political and economic truth, there were so many lies that were being pumped into our collective consciousness, that it made us weak (and lazy and fat and stupid).....Churches have historically competed with government for power and wealth, now that they have joined forces, they will devour each other.

The Obstructionist republicans use the religious base because of the family values myths!!!
The reality is the wealthy and their corporations who own and control Obstructionist republicans are dictating what is conceived as moral, ethical, political, and hosting the family values myths!
We are not free or saved, we are enslave as a profit center!
If as a ethnic group or race contrary to their wishes and needs we are surpressed and Manipulated until we are useful or discardable!!!

It is not new. The Southern Baptist Convention was formed in the 1840s as a breakaway sect from the main Baptist church to support slavery and in the 1860s to support the Confederacy. The comingling of religion and politics began way back. Its modern version was retriggered around 1972 by Jerry Falwell.

What issue are you referring to when you say verifiable truth? Also, both Republican and Democrat politicians are liars. So what's the excuse with Democrat politicians wanting power and wealth? Or do you think there is a problem with just the Republicans?
