Whiteness ,The original sin by Jim Goad

I received a summary of the above book on Kindle

According to him a certain class of white men, particularly academics are virtually apologising for being white .
He talks about good whites and bad whites and quotes black activists like Franklin Madison and Donyae Coles..
Madison's quote " It doesn't help your case if you say you are not a racist, you probably are,you have just been too insensitive to know otherwise"

Coles quote " Even ""Good"" white people silence people of colour every day"

I am not going to pay £5.50 to read the whole book but does he have a point. Have white people been accused of racism for so long that they are almost feeling guilty for being white.?

I really think, instead of white the author should have said 'European' (or a decendent). There are some potential anthropological reasons put forward for this but ultimately its about who had the biggest armoury.

I don't feel guilty about my skin tone, how silly. It would be like feeling guilty because I am ginger! It really isn't possible to be whiter than I am. I am the product of human beings living in a cold, often sunless part of the globe for millenia. Its the luck of the draw, thats all. Me being white does not denote my value as a human animal. Its just a thing. I feel guilty because of some silly choices I made when I knew perfectly well what the negative outcome would be. On an unrelated note, how come you are still level 7? I see you post often.

Same here. I definitely don't feel guilty about being white and I certainly hope I am not in the slightest way racist

Won’t do any harm for a few privileged white males to feel discriminated against for a change...there’s nothing like walking in someone else’s shoes to understand their pain!

White nationalists and southern conservatives would have you think that. All this crying about white males experiencing racial discrimination is all bull. It's nothing more than a shift in demographics, whereby white males no longer are the "cock of the rock".

Because of changing demographic numbers, the minority populations, previously discriminated against with impunity by whites, are finally able to find a safe space in society to call out the white males and declare foul. This is not a reverse discrimination, instead this is called bringing a group (particularly white males) into accountability. This is what true equity and equality looks like.

Educated whites who agree with this and demand accountability of their white peers are not apologists or ashamed of their caucasian heritage. We just recognize the inequity and say enough is enough. The age of white dominated Imperialism is over. Get over it and get over yourselves. Realize the tide is turning and you cannot turn back time no matter how many Trumps you get.

Don't believe everything you read.

We can easily all be racist depending on the circumstances, and that is not only white people either.
