Trump says..... I am the chosen one!

  1. President Donald Trump on Wednesday declared himself “the Chosen One” as he defended his administration’s actions in the ongoing U.S.-China trade war.
  2. The president’s remark followed a string of criticisms aimed at his predecessors, whom he claimed had ignored China’s alleged malpractice on trade.
  3. “Somebody had to do it,” the president says, and “I am the Chosen One.”

Is he right?

I’ve actually heard that he is… on this issue.. He has shown a desire to ..step into it on several issues. I feel he’s right on one, so have held my criticism on this one until we’re further down the road..

But even if he’s right, he’s got just over a year to get it done ..before he’s out. Then, in typical US fashion - we’ll reverse course, yet again ~

No, he's not right. He's delusional and just winging it. The choosen one would actually know what he's doing, if such a position actually existed.

"The chosen one" is something straight out of false religious beliefs fostered by a DC political fellowship that thought all of our elected officials were "chosen by god.." With various names over the years and hiding their agenda secretly they are now portrayed as "The Family" in a Netflix series. Evangelicals believe this nonsense and it is the current "glue" between church and state. Somehow, if you are elected, you are "chosen by god." It makes me sick and should be illegal.

His already narcissistic head is being filled with Right Wing Dominionist Evangelical Christianity. They are telling him he has been chosen by god, and he obviously loves it--he might even believe it. But, even if he doesn't he will use it for his advantage. Hopefully, being who he is, he will alienate more and more people as he will do more and more bizarre things all while thinking he can do whatever he wants because he is chosen.

If you haven't watch "The Family" on Netflix, I suggest doing so. It explains this "chosen by god" crap.

Trump and Cyrus The Great
The American Religious Right and some in Israel believe that Trump is the modern day Cyrus, the Great.

Who was Cyrus?
Cyrus the Great (c. 600 or 576 – 530 BC) figures in the Hebrew Bible as the patron and deliverer of the Jews. He is mentioned 23 times by name and alluded to several times more. According to the Bible, Cyrus the Great, king of Persia, was the monarch under whom the Babylonian captivity ended. [en.wikipedia.org]

The religious are known for their superstitions and being susceptible to believing anything linked to higher power they are not able to understand or are afraid of. That is the mark of a religious person and he or she is void of logic, reason and free thinking.

Modi and Lord Ram
This goes on in every culture. The religious and conservatives have floated the theory in India that the Prime Minister is the modern day Lord Ram (god).

@St-Sinner And, all of this is why we must fight for all we are worth for the separation of church and state.

@Joanne Yes, we fight to reduce the influence. We cannot get rid of it any time soon (for at least 75 to 100 years) because religion is a much powerful force and motivator that makes you do things. Organized religion is a 2,000 year old disease. The majority of religious but moderate people will not take any action. The conservative religious people will fight in every cornet and every inch to not lose their power and intrusion. Millions are making a living on religion. There is a huge government funding that goes to religion and they make the government bend to their will. Why would they not fight?

Over 70% of the population (73.7% of adults in 2016) in the United States is religious. [pewforum.org]

Our and next 2 generations will not be able to get rid of it. We can try to restrict the intrusion.

@Joanne They played this game with Jesus too and manufactured events to help fulfill prophesy.

@DenoPenno Yes! Self-fulfilled prophecies.
