Where are the MeToo cries of approbation at Epstein's death?
Where are the MeToo cries denouncing the lack of action over the last 25 years?

I keep seeing this idea that #metoo is a organized group, like a political party or an organization with offices somewhere. it doesnt have meetings or "do things". Its a f-ing twitter hashtag. its a way that women (and some men) can tell their stories and link together and talk about more than individual cases, and not feel so alone or shut down. its a way of using social networking to talk about big picture issues, because all those individual stories take on a different meaning, when they are shared, and there are so many of them.

ok so enough about #metoo. I do hope that Epsteins victims are willing to share their stories, but we need to be realistic. WIth the stakes as high as they are (some people think that Epstein was murdered for what he knew... would a young woman who is finally away from that mess and getting on with her life, want to risk that?). Would you want to put your life on hold to be treated like some of the other young women who told stories about their experiences with powerful men, were? (death threats, going into hiding, dealing with family and friends and their opinions about womens right to talk about their past).

If some of these women come forward and use the #metoo hashtag and post on social media, all the more power to em. Side note: most of the #metoo stories were nothing but painful memories, not anything to do with an active criminal investigation, that might be another good reason for these women not to share anything.

Good points.

Maybe there's a lack of leadership and clear goals in the feminist movement these days. I must admit I don't really know where they're at.

There is nothing, and I mean nothing, that shows the power of privilege more than the Epstein clusterfuck does. It's the uppercrust that hid him in plain sight, protecting him - just look at his Florida "conviction" and lack of fallout, never mind the locals calling his island pedophilia island.

That multiple layers of protection and standards of behavior exist for the different straitia of society has always been evident, but the extent to which the Epstein case shows the differences cannot be denied. There aren't any minorities, or poor people to blame the atrocities on - just rich white men who control the levers of power, and they never pull the levers that harm them.

But then, what is human trafficking to the rich? They, daily, exploit people for thier benefit. Locking whole classes of people into a cycle of poverty and subjugation is what they fucking do, so why should we be surprised that sexual exploitation is just another facet of thier dysfunction?
