School taught you many things that favor your nation's agenda while hiding its many crimes . . . . From hence comes the false patriotism used by the Washington gangsters to obtain your allegiance to the corporate entity currently masquerading as you government . . .

There's a great book out called Lies My Teacher Told Me, which begins with the author describing how he breaks down the historical misunderstandings of his freshman students and also explains how the publishing industry shapes the textbooks used in education. It's over 20 years old now, but so much of the information and arguments presented are still valid.

The textbook industry is notorious for "whitewashing" the events of history. History in the typical history textbook writes from the paradigmatic premise that the only important history is that was precipitated by Europeans. Textbooks did get a little better after the 1960's cultural relevance movement, but nonwhite and non Europeans history generally gets short thrift.

They also tend to leave out the less savory actions engaged in by our governments, and our leaders. That may be why the White Nationalists seem to think that people of European heritage are superior, after all they've never been taught how fallible, ignominious, and culpable their kin were and are.

Howard Zinn made an attempt at changing this trend when he published his textbook, "A People's History of the United States". A look at history from the viewpoint of the marginalized peoples that lived here prior to Europeans or were brought over by same.

Same in every country of the world, except perhaps Switzerland and Iceland, but it will get to them in the end.
