In the meantime they have his money, not right

I feel sure this will be resolved...he will probably end up getting a complimentary free stay at the hotel. It is however, a cautionary tale to remind us to check before authorising a debit card payment.....a credit card is always a safer option.

He must have a pretty good credit limit. I gotta try the beer now.

It must have been a debit card ...not a credit card, it came directly out of his bank account.

@Marionville
How does a sports/beer journalist have that kind of money in his account?

@Haemish1 We don’t know how many people have large sums of money...I imagine he has many sources of income...people also inherit money, so who knows.

@Marionville
Could be - it’s about 10 times greater than anything in my experience😉

@Haemish1 I had more than that. It's called "life savings". When you have enough you can put it down against a mortgage on a decent house. Mine has four bedrooms.

@Petter
My life savings - retirement, tools, house and car combined, might exceed that - I’ve never had liquid funds anywhere near that amount.

@Haemish1 I worked in some pretty "dicey" environments and was paid overseas, accordingly. Some of my contemporaries did not survive.

He may need a barrister.

I doubt it...it will be sorted out. The hotel will compensate him, he will probably end up gaining out of it.
