I throughly enjoy scotch eggs, shepards pie, and scones.

Which is why, today, Britain's favourite dish is curry, hotly pursued by Oriental tale-aways, both of which have displaced fish and chips.

And fish and chips was a take-away brought here by Italians.

@Fernapple Before fish'n'chips the number one dish was probably peasebread soaked in milk.

@Petter Pie has a lot to answer for too.

@Fernapple Not to mention the stuff that makes you pie-eyed!!

@Petter That was invented in Belgium and brought here by the Flemish weavers. We can't take credit for that either.

@Fernapple That AND chips? Dammit!
But surely the stuff that makes you pie-eyed started in Egypt?

@Petter If you go back far enough yes.

I thought tacos had surpassed curry 😉 both better than pork pies a product from near me.

@girlwithsmiles ..... and Melton Mowbray?

@Petter yes, I think that’s where the closest famous product is from. Nottingham has Robin Hood, but I’m not aware it’s famous for a foodstuff 😉

I've just seen beautiful women in Britain, and I enjoy their breakfast! 😉

Possibly imported by the sailors!! 🤣😂

Bangers and Mash.... Had my fill last time I was there.

And...... you sailed off to new horizons!

@bigpawbullets Went down to Italy for a week after that. Wow, talk about a whole different culinary experience.. But it was expected.
