Who in their right mind would want to move to Kentucky??? White, black, hispanic.

Well, I'm generally regarded as "in my right mind," and I've lived in Kentucky for going on two decades (originally from NC). Yeah, the politics suck here, as does the religion, but there are more of us than you might think who find the views expressed in the ad above revolting. Unfortunately, we are outnumbered, and the Democratic Party here is ineffectual and given to a losing strategy of trying to out-GOP the GOP.

@DharmaBum50 same here in Texas, although I do believe there are more Democrats here, they just don't vote. The Democratic party here in Texas sucks!

@DharmaBum50 What do you think of Amy McGarth?

@ChurchLess Amy McGrath is running against #MoscowMitch, not Bevins. Kentucky state AG Andy Beshear is Bevins's Democratic opponent. But as far as McGrath goes, I have never liked politicians of either party whose sole qualification is their military background. Beyond that, I haven't liked what I've seen of her politics so far, and she's a perfect example of the Democratic Party's losing strategy I mentioned above. It has been said that she's disavowed her portrayal as a pro-tRump Democrat, and I certainly hope that's correct, but I think you can imagine my lack of enthusiasm for her. [courier-journal.com]

It takes a stretch to equate opposition to illegal immigration with racism.

But go ahead, accuse everyone with whom you disagree of being a racist—that’s in vogue now. It’s the kind of rhetoric that is going to result in Trumps being re-elected because people aren’t as dumb as is supposed.

You are so wrong-people are sick of the Racist-in-Chief and his hate and division vs black, brown and Asian people who are being deported without committing crimes-his first priority -anything for the White Supremists in his base.

We are not saying opposition to illegal immigration is racism, we are saying that THAT campaign add was fundamentally racist, designed to instill fear and horror.
Showing "illegals" in grainly slowed down B&W footage, with no sound other than spooky music and threatening angles, it is text book demonisation, scare tactics.
Then the "Good Guy" she shown in bright colours, with affirming music and sound, a utopian ideal to be striven for.

@sassygirl3869 But wait! Are they being deported because of their race or is it because they came in illegally? Are you saying that White Canadians get a free pass?

Are you proposing an open border to all?

@sassygirl3869, @LenHazell53 How is instilling fear and horror about illegal immigrants racism? Xenophobia maybe.

Do you propose open borders to all comers?

@WilliamFleming Vietnam refugees, US Veterans and terminally ill children are all being deported! Open your eyes.

@sassygirl3869 The question is whether the deportation of illegal immigrants is racist. It’s not about age, health status or military service.

There are certain laws concerning immigration and it is a presidential duty to enforce those laws.

@WilliamFleming so the above deportees who assisted this country, served in the military, participated in drug trials that help everyone by risking their very live,s are not entitled to citizenship? That is racism, prejudice and hate with your hateful MAGA.

@sassygirl3869 Whether or not they are entitled to citizenship is up to congress, but tell me, what does that have to do with racism?

Maybe it would make sense that they could apply for citizenship after a certain amount of service. Middle ground is reached by mutual respect and compromise, not by shrill cries of “racism” and by hatred and demonization of your political opponent.

@WilliamFleming Why are you defending racism? Are you a bigot who believes black and brown people are not equals? Are you a Trump supporter?

@sassygirl3869 Actually I voted for Gary Johnson but since Trump was legally elected I feel that it is good citizenship to give him a modicum of support. It is also respectful of the judgement of all those people who put him into office. And no, those people are not ignorant, racist, bigoted, or otherwise crazy or incompetent.

Even where there is hatred, you are not going to fix it by displaying hatred and bigotry of your own.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

—Martin Luther King, Jr.

@WilliamFleming I only hate racists and anti-LGBTQ people. -otherwise I hate no one else. You are not answering my questions.

@sassygirl3869 I hate no one.

@WilliamFleming pleased to hear it.

@sassygirl3869 he, @WilliamFleming , is trolling, the technique is called sealioning, "a type of trolling or harassment which consists of pursuing people with persistent requests for evidence or repeated questions, while maintaining a pretense of civility."
He knows that this is not about illegal immigration, he knows it is systematic incitement to racism for the purpose of generating fear in order to erode the freedoms of all, only and idiot would think otherwise and what ever else he may be William is no fool, but he likes the attention being a contrarian brings him along with a sense of self import and and pseudo intellectual smugness.
Now sit back and wait for him to pontificate extensively on why I am wrong.

@LenHazell53 I have made my case and have nothing to add. I will only reply to substance, not to personal attacks.

@WilliamFleming Good
