Day 4 after the shingles vaccination:

I am still weak like a newborn kitten, but the flu symptoms have faded away. Still better than a single day with shingles. I had that four times in my life and hope never to get it again.

I had a rough few days with the first dose and was told that the 2nd one would be worse but it wasn't.

Oh.thanks for letting me know that. I am not looking forward to the second dose.

I've had an outbreak once. It really is miserable. I got my shots at the VA a few months ago. It's two shots, 30 days apart. One of them did the same to me, but now I can't remember which one.

Let's hope it was the first one. I had shingles for the first time when I was 14, half way around my waist.Six weeks away from school because everybody thought i was contagious. Pain, pain, pain. There is even a syndrome for the pain you get when the shingles rash has already healed. - postherpectic neuralgia. The treatment is opiod pain killers.
I will now shut up about it.

@Spinliesel Mine was all over my groin. I've heard of people getting it in their eye! I can't even imagine that.

@Sticks48 My daughter had in in her eye. She'll need a cornea transplant soon.

@Spinliesel That really had to hurt, didn't it? Did she wear an eye patch?

@Sticks48 Yes, for a few days.

Never had shingles- wonder if I should get the vaccination? I’m definitely overdue for a tetanus shot and a dental exam.

Are you over 65? Then , best to keep your tetanus shot updated and get a pneumonia shot. Shingles, if you are sensitive to the chickenpox virus.

Hope you feel stronger in a day or two....better as you say, to get the vaccination and feel weak for a week than suffer Shingles which can be a killer.
