How many hobbies is too many? What are some of your more eccentric/weird hobbies that you enjoy doing that you get flak for?

I once had a huge library, that visitors to my home were in awe of. I also was once into 'conflict simulation gaming', which people were surprised that I devoted an entire room to it.

I used to be a collector now I think I'm just a socializer.

Having packed up a four bedroom house to move into a two… several ‘collections’ were discarded.. Don’t do garage sales, thrift stores, auctions, estate sales or antique shops anymore. No more ‘stuff’ ~

Don’t know that I’m becoming any more social, though 🙂

@Varn I've always been social, I just have more time to do it now.

I blacksmith, coppersmith, target shoot, build weapon systems from the ground up (For target shooting), reload, build custom PCs and laptops, woodworking, yard work (yes, some I consider a hobby!) hiking the area, building functional things from scratch, fixing things that were never meant to be fixed and generally working projects around my house!

I get to all of them as needed to keep them fresh and fun.

No travel in mind as well as space, the butterfly may not achieve so much as the ant or own a fine high nest, but it sees a thousand times more, and does no harm.

….hanging around here 😉

Otherwise, would political involvement be considered ‘a hobby?’ I appreciate nature, and though surrounded by it ..find it near impossible to meet others knowledgeable enough to answer some basic questions (I’m somewhat new to the area).

Big on growing stuff, from vegetables to trees; but there are plenty of knowledgeable ‘hobby gardeners’ around. Preserving food could once have been considered ‘a hobby.’

Geology is ..delicious! But active groups are a good ways off. I’m into birding, same problem with groups, though. Spotted, actually watched from a local peak just days ago - my first Bald Eagle since arriving in Virginia - magnificent!
