West Virginia obviously can compete with New England for fall color
Yes it can, but it's been so dry this year that the colors aren't what they normally are.
I lived in Huntington for about 18 months working for ACF Industries building railroad cars. Realized that I was lving in the buckle of the Bible Belt. More churches per capita then any other city in the US. And more bars that require "membership" to get in. Being from NYC, it was my first experience with the religious-right and restricted alcohol sales. LOL
The alcohol situation is much better now. Still a lot of churches though.
8th Street East looking North, the hills in the background are in Ohio . I grew up here and spent my first 26 Years there . Went to Huntington High School and Marshall University and I miss it dearly, but I don't miss the poverty and the Out of Control Drug Problems . The Dumbass Republiturds in control are only making matters worse . Still it was a great place to grow up .
It's getting better.
@Tomfoolery33 It has a way to go . It was a sad thing to see this town to go Hell the last 20 years . I grew up on 4th Street East and it was rough as a cob last year . I will be there in a couple of months to check it out and see if things are better . Thanks for the memories .
