Mister Rogers is my Jesus.

There's a documentary about to come out called, "Won't You Be My Neighbor" and it has awakened people all over the world of the good he did for children (I was one who watched him) and it has us saying, "We need him now in our hateful world".

I suggest, that there is a Mister Rogers in all of us, and we can all be more loving towards each other, and we can be the change.

Are you aware that he was a presbyterian minister (fun fact)

I have enormous respect for him and how he conducted himself with kindness and integrity. And for the positive change he brought about, as when he (very effectively) defended the funding of PBS to the GOP legislators of his era.

His affect was always a bit weird and off-putting to me, even as a child; but that is my problem, not his.

As there are paralells between Jesus and Mr. Rogers there are also parallels between Mr. Robinson and the Santa Claus myth attached to the christian holiday which celebrates the birth of Jesus.

A very religious man, yet didn't use that to brainwash children and only cared about making every child feel at home in a scary world. I remember growing up with him. A beautiful human being he was. We all need another Mister Rodgers in our neighborhood at this scary time.

His testimony before the senate in defense of funding for PBS is awesome:

Yes.Thank Goodness we still have Sesame Street. I have met some people from Sesame Street Workshop when I gave them feedback on designing plush figures and gifts my company Gund was licensed to sell. Sesame Street carries the message on.

Mister Rogers was great. He was a religious minister, but he never used that to indoctrinate or divide children. How many ministers in today's age would have been able to set aside religion for the sake of every child who watched? Fred Rogers was a remarkable man.
