Yes possibility you could create your own city and by laws but unfortuneatly one would still have to conform to Provinicial and Federal laws and regulations , It could be off the grid green community hopefully full self sufficent for energy thru solar and wind and ? as well as produce etc ,could grow ones own meat but slaughter house would have to meet provincial regulations and health care could be in house to a point,One of the big things that i think that could be done is that all the citizens have equal responsibility for keeping the community in pristine shape and helping ones neigbours with projects etc So much to think about .

Or alternatively get some advice from an Amish commune. They have it cracked

i have always wanted to create my own city but i am very sure i would not limit residence by religion or lack thereof any more than i would by skin color or height. i would want to ban proselytizing but why would it be a municipal matter who believed in what on their own time?

@Neenz so you're not in favor of the first amendment? you may have to find another country in which to create your city.

Alternative religion? You're joking right?

That’s great. You’ve just got to vote in your leaders after that.

@Neenz it means you will most definitely have the exact same problems you have now, but on '"squabble" level. Where are all the communes from the 70's? Why not look it all up, or ask some former members? Reinventing the wheel is just silly, especially when that "wheel "was not actually viable.

@AnneWimsey Thanks for getting it, AnneπŸ˜‰

@Neenz of course. Best to set up the communities, but one can’t go in blindly. Be aware that there will be dominant and submissive characters, there will be radicals, there will be dissenters. It is the dynamic of group theory.

You need a mechanism to address these situations in order to maintain a functional society which is usually by power and control by authority. If you find another solution, that would be the Holy Grail of sociological theory.

It’s important to be aware of these factors so that you can plan accordingly rather than hoping that 150 people will play together nicely.

Pipe dream or reality?

It used to be called a commune?

Or how individuals lived too together up till the twentieth century!!!
