Here I go again please give him a chance.

I am an Australian but we suffer the same imbeciles as you if you can get on board with Yang and tell everyone you know about him Australia will follow and we can help change the world. The time to do something great is now. Do not vote for a politician vote for Yang. "Humanity First"

Yes, voting non politicians into office always works out ever so fucking nicely.

For the same reason i wouldn't want a politician being CFO of a company I work for/own stock in I don't want a business man running the country - different skill sets, different rules, and different outcomes determine success.

Success in one area is never a guarantee of success in another.

Forgive me however if your country is capable of promoting an idiot to president how then are you unable to consider a candidate with answers to your problems.

@rathswohl whatd be really nice is if that made any sense at all.

Any

Who says I haven't considered him?

There are tons of shiny, beautiful, brilliant, kind, compassionate, attractive and appealing ideas from presidential candidates, from political think tanks, experts, pundits, books now and there have been from various entities throughout the history.

However, we must be pragmatic and understand how the system works. The messenger has to be able to appeal to voters. In the American democracy, nobody shuts out anybody directly although money and the powers that be like PACs, activist groups etc. can shut a candidate down. The candidates are generally free to win voters over. Andrew Yang has failed to break beyond a meager 1% approval after 7 months in to the primaries campaign. America is not ready for his message, just like it is not ready for Bernie Sanders message after 2 desperate presidential runs so far. It is a leveled playing field for all and bad candidates die with their brilliant ideas. That is how it works.

Therefore, the answer is No, he will not win because he has not been able to sell his message.

You have pointed this out before my purpose is to try to make the world a little better the logical outcome is for me to attempt to progress Yang as a solution. I think it is the right time for a change otherwise you and I may never see a civilised world.

@rathswohl
I was saying that Yang or Sanders are unelectable. Their running now will not win but their ideas can take root now and grow into mainstream tomorrow - 10 to 20 years from now.

My point is what and who wins is all that matters now. I guarantee you that Sanders or Yang are not here to do the world good. They will disappear and will not talk this as soon as the elections are over. They are here just for the White House.

None of them can get even 5% done in their maximum 2 terms as president. We have more important bills rotting in the Congress that have not passed for 3 presidents terms and 11 years. What both are promising are pies in the sky considering where we stand.

It is good to want what others (Norway and Sweden) have but we must know where we are.

Therefore, we cannot make the world a better place by supporting unviable candidates and ideas. We must be pragmatic.

Andrew Yang is in a wrong place and ideas are premature for the times. He should be in Denmark etc.

@St-Sinner Although I credit you for increasing my vocabulary I am of the opinion that logically if your country can elect an idiot as president then you are also capable of electing an entrepreneur with great ideas polling at 3% aaaand if I can not induce anyone on this site to look more closely at Yang then I will require more effort.

@rathswohl
You were right on one part about Trump. The same country with 50% religious south cannot comprehend progressive ideas. I have no pleasure in saying that Yang is not electable but I take pleasure in saying I am pragmatic. It has served me well.

@St-Sinner where is the measure of pragmatism if change requires a new way of thinking?

@rathswohl

Pragmatism is not being rigid. Pragmatism means take all realities at the time into consideration. Assess where we are, where we are going, asses the means we have, assess challenges, asses our strength, assess our facilities, assess our environment, assess factors we have control and have no control on .... and be realistic to plan and go for the best possible outcome. Don't be immature, naive, unrealistic.

@St-Sinner I looked it up and it does not say that. You have conceded some of my points before but you claim to know certain things that disqualify Yang from participating we need people such as yourself to help change the world if we do not try we will be dead soon both you and I. If we try anyway
we will have something to be happy about.

@rathswohl
Yes, that is the sad reality. We will be dead before seeing our dreams come true. But you know what the biggest reason for it? Unrealistic expectations.

It happens to people all the time and everywhere. Girls have a Cinderella dream and boys think somebody will take them under his wings and teach everything to open big opportunities. These Disney tale dreams do not come true because the prince does not exist in the real world and maybe they do not realize they are no Cinderella or they are rotting in a wrong place. I have seen that many times at many places. I see grown ups doing poems about love who have probably done 2 divorces already.

A person with a good head on the shoulders will go far and fast in life instead.

All I am saying is don't insist on swimming against the current.

@St-Sinner Happiness or well being is directly related to our level of expectation insofar as the lower our level of expectation the higher our level of happiness since we do not expect as much. History will not provide a solution and I do not intend to lower my expectations, I am asking you to increase your expectations for humanity.

@rathswohl
Life is short and I want focus on achieving a maximum outcome I want considering realities about everything around me and in me. Increasing expectations is a fool's game. You can say... try harder.

@St-Sinner We could be part of a network of change please try harder.

@rathswohl
First things first. I want to see who can give us the most good most fast. Who can give us the premium or super good but maybe or maybe not will come last.

I think AY is a much nicer guy than DT, and i think he would pick smarter, more competent advisors too, but he would have lots of the same problems DT has... making decisions on incomplete information (not understanding the depth and bredth of the issues), learning on the job (getting bogged down on procedures and administrative tasks), and simply being unable to devote inhuman amounts of time to an incredibly steep learning curve, when hes also under huge time pressure for real life presidential actions.

Effective delegation and managerial skills could really help, but AY presents himself as more of a charismatic individualist, and i don't think he could tolerate the mind numbing nature of dealing with professional politicians and bureaucrats, or negotiating/ game playing with Congress. He'd quickly "go rogue" just like DT.

I th8nk hes got a ton to offer, in terms of new vision and changing the political landscape, i hope he sticks around, but his first big job should not be the presidency, and should be outside of the private sector.

If nothing changes nothing changes.

Yang has already created thousands of jobs in the private sector and is also a billionaire he has nothing to gain by becoming president only a desire to make a difference yet even on an open minded site such as this I am consistently told he does not have a chance. My hope is that open minded and intelligent people will at least investigate what I am saying about the man.

@rathswohl you seriously sound exactly like someone who was trying to justify voting for trump a few years ago. Exactly.

@MarkiusMahamius There are no solutions in the historical record and its not easy trying to open peoples eyes to "Andrew Yang" as he is the exact opposite to DT in every way he even says this himself. If you understand what he stands for then I find it difficult to understand why you do not help me promote progress.

@rathswohl i guess its karma... we try to tell other countries whats good for them, based on our own ignorance, hubris, and lack of understanding. We should be able to take what we dish out. We're lucky youre just one person.

Nice guys finish last in American politics.

@MarkiusMahamius We all want the same thing, clean water to drink, food to eat, clean air to breath and we all try and want happiness, suggesting that I will have a detrimental effect on humanity is 100% wrong. I was thinking that agnostic.com is filled with people who have left the myths behind and do mostly have a better understanding of progress with an open mind. Insults are not permitted on this site. It would be better if you could provide some of your ideas as to why you do not agree with my evaluation of Andrew Yang. There is no such thing as Karma there is only chance and bad people often get away with bad actions we can only attempt to put good people in positions where they can do some good.
