The growing hatefulness of both helped drive me out. I really don't look back, much preferring my current life which is pro people.

"Becoming" atheist and "getting" tired of religions uses a verb tense, present progressive, suggesting ongoing but not yet completed action or situation. It will be great when you can say to yourself and everybody else, "I am an atheist" and "I am over religions", period. Present tense fact. Hope so.
